Dear Redmond Neighbors,
I am excited to announce my candidacy in the upcoming special election May 20th 2025, for Redmond School Board. Ensure you are registered and make a plan to vote! Special elections historically have a low turn out but are just as important as general elections because these are the elections that directly impact our local boards and measures for our community.

A Bit About Me...
Midwesterner born and raised, I first migrated west in 2011 while stationed in Utah for 2 years. I served in the Army National Guard 2007-2014 as a Military Police Officer, and certified UAV pilot, my secondary role was Administration for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. I spent a couple years activated, till I transitioned to civilian life and settled in Bend, August 2013. My transition out of service came around a time when my youngest brother was taken into the Illinois Foster Care system. Our Grandmother cared for him till she passed away in 2012 and I became his legal guardian at 22 years old. Military life is not accommodating to single-guardian or parent families, so I transitioned to civilian life and pursued a college degree in Psychology first at Central Oregon Community College and later transferred to the University of Oregon.
People are my purpose and service is my modality to meet people where they are. Mental Health and Disability rights are at the core of my heart and advocacy efforts, but is not an exhaustive list to what I find important to advocate for. For the past two and half years, I have worked in Social Work teaming up with community partners, families, and self-advocates to provide services and supports to adults and children with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD).
I am a lifelong learner who enjoys reading, singing, dancing and meeting new folks. Visiting the new Redmond Library has become my favorite thing to do since it opened. I also have a passion for good food, hand crafted beverages, and traveling—whether it’s to new destinations or through the pages of a great book.
I love spending time with my Partner, kiddo, 2 cats and 2 dogs. I enjoy grabbing coffee with friends, board games, and the vast opportunities to enjoy the great outdoors such as roller skating in the Dry Canyon, hiking Smith Rock, paddle boarding our local lakes in the summer, skiing at Hoodoo in the winter, and camping with my family.
Why I’m Running...
I am a first-generation college graduate, but before that I once was a youth at risk of not graduating from High School altogether and struggled with grade school most of my life. I was born from teen pregnancy and another parent sporadically absent. The saying “it takes a village” is not lost on me, and I am immensely grateful to the generosity and care from family, friends, my communities, teachers, and social workers over the years. My path could have veered differently, statistically speaking; and it is my intent to serve as one voice on the Redmond School Board that is reflective of those in our community who also have or currently are experiencing adversity.
The future of Oregon’s Department of Education is uncertain, but our responsibility at the local level is clear: we must ensure student achievement through strong policies and collaboration. As a parent of a young child who receives special education services through an Individualized Education Plan (IEP), I bring both lived experience and advocacy to the table. I am running for Redmond School Board to represent families, students, and educators who deserve a voice in shaping our schools.
I have the skills, energy, and passion to advocate for policies that uplift our children, empower our teachers, and strengthen our community. Representation matters, and I am ready to bring an inclusive and relentless heart to this work.
